Message to Employees - Employee Vaccination Requirement

Dear colleagues,

In consultation with employee groups, we are actively planning safe operations that better align with recent changes in public health guidance. Today, we are sharing an update to assist with your planning.

Winter Term Academic Delivery

The winter term began as scheduled on January 10. On Monday, January 24, students are returning to campus for in-person classes.

Mandatory Vaccination or Testing Requirement for Employees

  • All Acadia employees are required to be either fully vaccinated or tested twice weekly. Vaccinated staff must provide proof of vaccination before January 31, 2022, confidentially by email to proofofvaccination@acadiau.ca.

  • Vaccination exemption will be provided for valid medical/health reasons. Unvaccinated staff with an exemption will be provided access to free rapid testing and will be required to report their test results by emailing their assigned code and results to covid19testing@acadiau.ca.

  • Non-exempt, unvaccinated staff will be provided access to rapid testing twice a week, will be charged a fee for the tests ($30 per week), and will be required to report their test results by emailing their assigned code and results to covid19testing@acadiau.ca.

  • If you would like to apply for an exemption, please review the Medical Exemption Policy (PDF).

  • The next on-campus vaccination clinic is on Friday, January 21, 2022. To register, please complete the form.

  • Public Health no longer supports the use of tests for screening purposes.

As we monitor the impact of the virus, we will adapt our protocols as necessary and we will continue to work together to ensure the needs of our employees are met to support your health and safety. Thank you for your continued cooperation and doing your part in making our community as safe as possible.
