Each year, we award more than $4 million to students in the form of scholarships, scholar-bursaries, bursaries, awards, and prizes. By maintaining a strong scholarship and financial assistance program, we are able to attract, retain and support our students.
As a donor to scholarships and financial assistance, you can direct your gift toward: general award funds or awards for specific departments, faculties, research, or athletic teams; any existing named awards; or you can create a personal legacy by establishing a named award yourself. Established in 2018 by Florence Pearsall (’57), this bursary is available to a full-time international student attending Acadia, preferably as part of the World University Service of Canada program.
Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Florence graduated from Acadia with a BA in Sociology and began a career in Fredericton as a social worker. After moving to Lewiston, New York, where she spent the majority of her adult life, she began a successful career in real estate and banking. She has great memories of Acadia and appreciated the opportunity to represent the university at the World University Service International Seminar in Japan in 1955. It greatly influenced her life.
